Indicator School - WSC Classification of Technical Market Indicators
WallStreetCourier has classified its technical market indicators into six groups
As technical analysis refers to a broad field and the list of technical market indicators is almost infinite, WallStreetCourier has classified its technical market indicators into six groups, depending on the market they cover or by its nature. Four of them are directly related to our investment process.
Oscillators - Are designed to lead price movements and are oscillating around a certain value
Contrarian Indicators – Tracks the investing behavior of Smart Money, Dumb Money and the general market sentiment (also known as Behavioral Finance)
Cycles – Cycle analysis has a long history and is also part of technical analysis. All markets appear to be subject to cyclical patterns and forces caused by economic influences and countless other factors
Commodities – This category refers mainly to indicators for Gold and Silver as well as for CFTC information. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) provides inside information about purchases and sales of futures contracts made by commercial hedgers, large institutional investors and small traders for different commodities.
